Fun Night with my Pre-Teenage Son

Thought I would share my fun night I had with Lucas. I have some catching up
to do with all the things that have been going on lately but I'll start with tonight and then hopefully do some more soon.
Lucas and I went to the Columbus Destroyers football game tonight. They are an Arena Football team. This was the first time I had been to the game. We get there and instead of sitting in our seats in "peanut heaven", we go to sit in the lower bowl in the endzone. The game was being televised on ESPN and they were offering people in the upper sections tickets to fill up the lower bowl. So we were more than thrilled with our new seats.
The game was awesome to watch! The Destroyers beat the Philadelphia Soul 44 to 21! It was really fun to watch. In addition to the free t-shirts everyone got for going to the game, we also had tickets for a free football and hat. We also got lucky and caught two Chipolte shirts that each had coupons for free Chipolte. MIchael & I love Chipolte, so I know where I am getting dinner at this week. We also each got Destroyers drawstring backpacks.
After the game, they opened the field to the fans for autographs. Lucas initially when we came into the game wouldn't go see the cheerleaders. Guess he is at the awkward stage with pretty girls. So I asked him that if we went down on the field for autographs, if he would get his picture taken with a cheerleader (just one) for $10. Of course, he agreed. So onto the field we went with the football players signing his football and the cheerleaders signing his cheerleader poster. Halfway through this, he looks at me and says that I only have to pay him $5 for getting his picture with the cheerleader. In fact too, we got pictures with all 14 cheerleaders and some of the players. I think he enjoyed the cheerleader pictures more than the ones with the football players.
We had an awesome time! He is now anxious to show some of the guys at school the pictures of him with the cheerleaders and show the guys at church his autographed football. Glad to see that hanging out with his mom for an evening wasn't a bad experience. I guess having the pretty girls around made it even better for him.
