A New Sassy Hannah!

Well, let's just say that today was an emotional day for me.
Monday afternoon, Hannah sprung on me that she wanted to have her hair cut
and donate it to Locks of Love. She has mentioned this before, even writing about it in the fall but never really seemed as serious about it. Due to the craziness of finishing school and leaving for vacation Wednesday, I told her to wait and to think about it. Well she took the plunge and did it today. Not before I bawled about it. I wasn't sad about the haircut (It is just hair!) but it was just an end of something that I can't put to words. For those that don't know, Hannah is 9 1/2 years old. She was born with a large headful of hair and with the exception of chopping her hair on her own when she was 2 and trimming ends, she has never had her hair cut. She got about 15 inches cut off to send to Locks of Love. Her donation will help to make another child very happy. I am proud of her for making this decision.

It is going to take a little while to get used to the new "Sassy" Hannah. BTW, sassy is Hannah's favorite word. She just looks so different! She is so happy though with her new haircut & can't quit looking at herself in the mirror or playing with her hair!
